The zero direct emission and environmentally friendly Husqvarna BV30i is suitable for us with a choice of 5 interchangeable L-shaped hardened aluminium blades which are available in 5 different working widths from 1.8 to 4.2m. Each blade is fixed into position by two screws and have contoured and rounded (bull-nose) ends which make them easier to manoeuvre around obstacles. They are also designed to both cut and smooth wet concrete.

The battery-powered BV30i is a credible alternative to conventional petrol-powered wet screeds and is more ideally suited for indoor use and use in poorly ventilated areas. It is also ideal for use on virgin sites as well as general site use, thanks to its cordless and unrestricted use.

When used with a Husqvarna BLi300 36V battery, typical running times of 40-70 minutes are achievable from one charge of a battery, subject to how fully charged the battery is initially. There is of course no fuelling as such required, no oil, no petrol or trailing cables either. Being battery-powered, the BV30i also requires very limited maintenance wise and has a significantly lower running costs and overall cost of ownership.

The BV30i is also incredibly easy and comfortable to use and is equipped with an adjustable twin de-vibrated low-vibration handle, fingertip operation and cruise control for a high level of operator comfort. Its ergonomic design, lightweight and folding main handle also make it easy to transport to and around site, as well as easy to store too.

One charge of a battery can power a BV30i screed for over an hour (BLi300 battery), which can then be recharged at a fraction of the cost of a container of petrol (pennies rather than Pounds!).
