Hi tip dumpers are increasingly popular for moving materials around site and depositing into high containers such as skips and trailers. When you need something more dynamic than a standard dumper, it’s time to invest in something more versatile and efficient.
Belle have been market leaders of motorised dumpers for decades, and now they have a flagship high-tip dumper in the form of the DX1000HT. Belle dumpers are made to an incredibly high standard and tested extensively so you can be sure that a machine from Altrad Belle is as reliable as you need it to be.
What To Look For In A Hi-Tip Dumper
Purchasing any construction machinery needs to be a worthwhile investment, not only in terms of initial outlay but ongoing running costs as well as the non-financial costs such as effort, training and ecological footprint.
The main features a dumper needs to have are manoeuvrability, carrying capacity, efficiency, performance and user comfort.
Manoeuvrability
The terrain of a typical construction site is uneven; with puddles, loose gravel and other surface hazards to contend with. Construction vehicles such as diggers and trucks would need to be equipped with heavy duty tyres, as well as transmission and steering that is up to the job.
Capacity
A fundamental function of a dumper or power barrow is carrying materials from A to B. The capacity of the skip or bucket on the DX1000 is 1000kg, which is almost 75% heavier than the machine unladen.
Efficiency
With a turning circle of just 2.6 metres, Belle’s Hi Tip Dumper is as nimble as it is powerful. The 35 litre fuel tank feeds an efficient Yanmar diesel engine and the 255/75-15.3 tyres are large enough to tackle deep mud but not so unwieldy as to slow the machine down.
Performance
The hydrostatic transmission on this 1 tonne dumper delivers extra power when needed from the 4 radial piston hydraulic motors. Aside from its ability to handle thick mud, the DX1000 can handle steep gradients up to 25% (4:1). This places Belle’s apart from the competition and is the best performer on the market. Other manufacturers may offer cost savings but Altrad Belle do not compromise on quality.
User Comfort
Increased leg room and premium seat padding to ISO 7096 standards sets the Belle Hi-Tip apart. The attention to detail on the DX1000 extends to useful features such as USB charging ports and a phone holder. With all the time the user spends in a machine of this calibre, the more comfortable and user-friendly the better. Even getting in and out of the Belle machine is easy, thanks to the bolted, hi-vis access points.
